Statistical spam filtering is slowly ceasing to work. Spammers have gotten smarter and are slowly defeating bayesian filters by cleverly constructed messages. Therefore I combine statistical spam filtering together with whitelisting. If you want to have the highest chance to reach me with your email (and receive the answer in shortest time), please read the following:

  1. S/MIME or PGP signed and/or encrypted email (see below) is whitelisted.
  2. Emails sent to the special address format (see below) are whitelisted.
  3. Everything else is left to the mercy of SpamAssassin. If the message is classified as spam, it is blacklisted. Otherwise, it graylisted.

Whitelisted email is delivered directly to my mailbox. Graylisted email is put in a special mailbox which I browse maybe once a week. I expect much junk to accumulate there (despite SpamAssassin), so don't be surprised if I miss your mail and you never get a reply from me.

Clearly, the best bet is to send me a mail according to rules 1 and/or 2. If you just want to try your luck, watch out not to be blacklisted and send mail to the following address (after deleting all whitespace):

zvrba @DOT@ external [AT] zvrba @DOT@ net

S/MIME or PGP

Use one of the keys below to encrypt your email. Note that the X.509 certificate (signed by CAcert) has limited validity (approx. 1/2 year), so be sure to fetch the latest version.

Special address format

When sending email append the current date, in ISO format, after the username. For example, if you were to send a mail on 25. October 2004, you would send to the following address: zvrba+2004-10-25@zvrba.net

You do not have to worry about message transit time; I allow a difference of +/-1 day.
